I've been a professional musical theater actress for over twenty-five years, performing throughout the Bay Area and across the country, flirting here and there with New York City. Ultimately, I chose to build my career near my hometown, raising a family (Ryder, 18, and Rylie, 12) and contributing to the vibrant arts community in Silicon Valley. I've had the privilege of singing my heart out at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, the former San Jose Rep, American Musical Theater of San Jose, Marin Theater Company, Center Rep, and many more, with a strong focus on the development of new musicals.
Driven by a passion for telling comically charged, heart-centered stories led by strong women, my first musical, Becoming Britney—co-written with my longtime BFF Daya Curley—premiered at The New York Fringe Festival, where I was honored to receive the Festival’s Best Actor award. The show also won the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Original Script. I was later commissioned by Center Repertory Theater in Northern California to write Real Housewives: The Musical, which went on to be produced and directed by Roger Bean (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and the legendary Garry Marshall (Happy Days, Pretty Woman) at The Garry Marshall Theater in Los Angeles. Both shows are published by Stage Rights Theatricals (now an imprint of Broadway Licensing), with Housewives enjoying productions around the world and currently available for worldwide rights.
I’m currently developing a new solo musical, Molly Bell’s Hysterical, which was featured at the TheatreWorks Silicon Valley New Works Festival 2024.
My work lives at the intersection of comedy, musicals, spirituality, and personal growth. Creativity and spirituality have always been foundational to me, and I love exploring these themes in my online blog, Spirit & Spark.
While I still occasionally teach voice lessons, I've put teaching dance fitness on hold to let me back heal from years of dancing backwards in high heels, and focus fully on developing new scripts, concerts, and other creative works.
